Former Mayo senior footballer Niamh Kelly has got her AFLW season off to a great start.

She helped the Adelaide Crows to a 58-28 victory over Port Adelaide.

The equivalent of player of the match in the Adelaide – Port Adelaide meeting is adjudged to be the winner of the ‘Showdown Medal’, which Niamh secured.

She finished the game with 28 disposals as well as five marks and a goal.

Her goal was the first scored by an Irish player in this year’s AFLW campaign.
