Mona McSharry bids for glory at the World Championships in Japan this afternoon.

The Sligo swimmer is in the pool for the final of the 100-metres breaststroke.

McSharry qualified for the final with the fourth fastest time.

Earlier today, Daniel Wiffen advanced to the final of the 800-metres freestyle with a new Irish record time.

He has also booked a place in next year's Olympic Games.
