Mayo will play Sligo in next week’s Connacht under-20 football final.

Despite a late fightback from Leitrim, Mayo were 16-points to 2-9 winners in Carrick-on-Shannon this evening.

Things were just as close at Markievicz Park where a late Eoghan Smith point saw Sligo edge out Roscommon 1-12 to 1-11.

Mayo were nine points to the good with five minutes of normal time remaining, but two late Leitrim goals brought about a closer-than-expected finish.
