Mayo Gaels have been knocked out of the Connacht Intermediate Football Championship.

They suffered extra-time heartbreak at the hands of Naomh Anna Leitir Mór on a scoreline of Naomh Anna 3-12 1-14.

It looked like the Abbeysiders had clinched the game in normal time with a goal, but it was subsequently disallowed to leave it even stevens at 1-11 to 2-8 at fulltime.

The Galway champions pushed on in the two ten minute periods to book a final meeting with Roscommon champs St Faithleachs.
