Micheál Donoghue remains in the running to be Galway's next senior hurling manager.

The 2017 All-Ireland winning boss reportedly withdrew from the process last month after being among the candidates being considered.

But Galway are believed to still be keen on the Clarinbridge man returning for a second spell in charge.

Former Galway goalkeeper James Skehill says the County Board would need to promise major backing in order for Donoghue to come back.
