The Mayo hurlers had 25 points to spare in their Nicky Rackard Cup opener against Monaghan.

They came out 3-32 to 2-10 winners in Clontibret.

At halftime they lead the Ulstermen by 1-13 to 1-4.

It is a great start to the competition for Derek Walsh's side.
