Mayo have been dealt a serious blow as Jason Doherty is set to miss the truncated season after picking up a knee injury in training.

The Burrishoole club man sustained the injury in recent days and is currently undergoing further medical assessment by the Mayo Medical team and will have a specialist review later this week.

It is a significant blow to Mayo's preparations ahead of their final two league games and the Connacht Championship opener with Leitrim.
