There was a huge upset at Pearse Stadium this afternoon in the Galway Senior Football Championship as Corofin’s seven-year reign as champions was brought to an end.

Mountbellew-Moylough defeated Corofin on a 2-13 to 0-12 scoreline and they will now face Moycullen in the final next weekend after they saw off Tuam Stars 3-14 to 1-15.

Elsewhere, in the Galway Intermediate Football semi-final Cortoon Shamrocks overcame Dunmore MacHales 2-09 to 0-11.

In the Galway Senior Hurling Semi-Final St. Thomas defeated Cappataggle 1-15 to 0-17.
