The R293 has fully reopened in South Sligo following an earlier incident.

Local fire services were called to a chimney fire at Carnree, Ballymote just after 8:00am this morning.

The road was partially closed and a stop/ go system was in place, however the road is now open for the afternoon.

The incident is described as minor and it is understood that nobody was injured.
