The body of a man has been recovered in County Galway.

This comes following a multi-agency search off the Galway coast.

The search had been underway since Thursday when a man was reported in the water.

It is understood that he was trying to retrieve a dinghy that had gone adrift from a yacht he was sailing on.

It has been confirmed by the Irish Coast Guard Operations Section that the search has now been stood down.
