A man in his 30s will in appear in court this morning charged in connection with a fatal assault, in Sligo Town in May of last year.

Gardaí in Sligo investigating the assault of a woman, in her 50s, at a residence in the town arrested and charged the man.

He will appear at Carrick on Shannon District Court at 10:30am.
