A woman in her 20s has died after being knocked down by a car in County Donegal this evening.

The pedestrian is the seventh person to be killed on the roads in 2024 after the collision happened on the N56 Road at Illistrin.

The woman's body remains at the scene and no other injuries have been reported.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
