An Garda Síochána are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in the Boyle Canal in County Roscommon.

The body of a man was found yesterday morning, Wednesday January 3 2024.

The man is believed to be in his 80s.

His body was removed from the scene and a post mortem will take place at a later date.
