A nationwide yellow weather warning has been put in place for today and tomorrow.

Strong gusty winds as well as heavy rain are expected across the country throughout the week, with warnings of potential flooding in local areas.

Alongside the yellow weather warning an orange alert is in place until midnight tonight, and Met Eireann advises people to be careful while travelling due to difficult conditions.
