The Rugby World Cup, the Women's World cup in Australia, Ryan Tubridy and Smash Burgers were some of the most Googled terms this year.

Google's released its annual list of the most frequent searches, which in 2023 also featured 'How to claim rent tax credit' and 'How to solve a Rubik's cube'.

Movies were also the subject of many searches this year, and Google's Julie Dodger says its no surprise that Barbie and Oppenheimer featured highly.

She also said that Mayo based film The Banshees of Inisherin was third on the film search list:
