Gardai in Claremorris are urging motorists to use to Ballyhaunis to Knock road with due caution due to a significant oil spill.

In particular, the stretch of road from Lannon's Chicken Factory to the roundabout in Knock is worst affected.

Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution as it is quite slippy.
