There is a major lack of senior Gardaí in county Mayo, with no Superintendent in Castlebar, which is the headquarters for Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Garda Division,

according to Mayo Fine Gael Deputy Alan Dillon.

He is calling for an immediate review of the new policing model that has led to this situation.

It comes as members of the Garda Representative Association are due to meet with Garda Commissioner Drew Harris today amid a row over rostering.

Deputy Dillon says from speaking with local Gardaí, there is a concern around rostering and resources throughout the county.
