A quarter of homes in Kildare with a building energy rating have been given an A classification.

It's followed by more than a fifth in Dublin and Meath.

Figures from the CSO show the lowest proportion of A-rated homes are in Leitrim, Longford and Cork City.

The highest rate of G-rated homes are in Roscommon, Leitrim, Mayo, Offaly and Tipperary.
