Patients presenting at hospital emergency departments across the region today are experiencing delays.

There are 37 patients on trolleys at Sligo University hospital, the third most overcrowded in the country.

25 patients are waiting for a bed at Mayo University Hospital, 18 at Portiuncula Hospital and 9 at University Hospital Galway.

Nationally, 416 patients are on trolleys today with the highest number at University Hospital Limerick where 96 patients are waiting on a bed.
