A Mayo TD says that the updated defective concrete block remediation scheme will still leave many home owners behind.
Earlier this week Minister Darragh O'Brien announced the enhanced scheme was now open for applications.
Grants of up to €420,000 are available for affected homeowners depending on the works required under the scheme.
However Sinn Fein's Rose Conway Walsh doesn't believe the scheme is adequate and believes the funding will fall short for some Mayo householders when they try to rebuild their homes.
The Deputy is also concerned that local authorities may not be fully equipped to deal with the volume of applications to the latest compensation scheme.
