Energy Minister Eamon Ryan will brief colleagues on plans for a solar rooftop revolution, with new grants for businesses to install solar panels.

Companies will soon be able to avail of between 2,700 and 162,500 euro in grant money to install the panels on their premises.

Eamon Ryan and Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney will tell Cabinet colleagues the grants will be suitable for small businesses like solicitors or dentists right up to large retail outlets or pharmaceutical plants.

The scheme is likely to open soon and stay in place until at least 2025.
