Two brothers are in county Mayo at present in the rain on their run from Dublin in honour of their Mayo mother, Elaine Tolan (nee Neary), who bravely battled Motor Neuron Disease (MND) until her death last December.

James and Oisín Tolan began their epic 220k run from their Dublin home on Tuesday and are destined for Foxford for sometime after 5pm this evening, where a warm welcome awaits.

They embarked on the journey to make a difference to the lives of those affected by the devastating disease of Motor Neuron.

Their Mom was a native of Foxford, as is their Dad -  Pearse and say every stride taken on VOYAGE4ELAINE echoes  Elaine's bravery, as she fought against MND for eight years.

All donations from the mammoth run will be divided between the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) and St Francis Hospice in Dublin.

As of this afternoon the brothers have gathered over 30,000 euro for the causes.
Donations can be made at idonate  - VOYAGE4ELAINE
