The Fleadh Cheoil Chonnachta kicks off next Friday evening, June 30, but they’ve already got underway for the celebrations in this year’s host town of Ballina.

This morning, the Fleadh brochure was launched by Fleadh chairperson John McDonnell, which contains over 200 pages of articles and photographs as well as details of Fleadh events and competitions.

Included in the brochure are messages from the US Ambassador Claire Cronin, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Tánaiste Micheál Martin and Arts Minister Catherine Martin.

Over this weekend there will be pub trail sessions taking place in the town of Ballina, as well as a show tomorrow evening with the Mayo Teenage Trad Ensemble & Máirtín O’Connor Trio.

An Uilleann Piping Day takes place on Sunday at the Merry Monk.
