There are long delays for patients presenting at the Emergency Departments of hospitals across the region today.

The second highest number of patients on trolleys nationally is at Sligo University Hospital, where there are 50 patients waiting for admission.

According to the latest Trolley Watch figures from the INMO, there are 37 patients on trolleys at Galway University Hospital waiting for beds, 20 patients waiting for admission to Mayo University Hospital and 4 patients on trolleys waiting for beds at Portiuncula University Hospital.

Nationally today there are 483 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals, with the highest number at University Hospital Limerick, at 89.
