Expansion of Healthcare and Veterinary places over the next 5 years will encourage young people to further their education here rather than abroad, according to local Minister.

Over 5000 new university places are set to come on stream over 5 years, and the expansion will begin in September 2024.

Minister Dara Calleary says this is very welcome, in particular for those who wish to study veterinary Medicine, as currently there is only 1 university that offers such a course in Ireland.
