There are long waits again today for patients presenting at Emergency Departments at hospitals across the region.

The second highest number of patients on trolleys nationally is at Sligo University Hospital today. According to the latest INMO Trolley watch figures there are 48 patients on trolleys waiting for beds at the facility.

There are 29 patients on trolleys waiting for admission at University Hospital Galway, 17 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital and 4 on trolleys at Portiuncula University Hospital.

Nationally there are 438 patients on trolleys waiting for beds, with the highest number at University Hospital Limerick at 85.
