
The daughter of a man who was found dead in County Sligo 25 years ago has asked people with information to come forward.
Eddie Fitzmaurice was found dead having been bound, gagged and beaten at his home in Bellaghy, just outside of Charlestown, on May 6 1998.
According to RTÉ, after the inquest into his death at Sligo courthouse yesterday, his daughter Valerie Snee spoke of her father and appealed for anyone with information on his death to examine their conscience and do the right thing.
The inquest into his death was first opened in July of 1998, no one has ever been charged in connection with the death of Eddie Fitzmaurice.
The 83 year old lived alone and was found after neighbours had become worried that he had not been seen since the Friday evening of May 1.
