
A local deputy says it’s crucial that there is more adequate public transport from Mayo to other city hubs and airports.
Deputy Alan Dillon says that there is a lack of frequent services from Mayo to connect directly to Dublin airport.
He has acknowledged the Bus Eireann service from Ballina but that isn’t enough as it only serves a number of towns in the region.
Additionally, many students from around the county attend third level colleges in Dublin and for those who come home at weekends a reliable and frequent service is a must.
