Gardaí in Ballina continue to investigate a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Knockroe, Bonniconlon, Co. Mayo on Saturday morning, 17th June, 2023.

The collision occurred at approximately 7.40a.m. and was between an articulated lorry and a male pedestrian.

The male pedestrian, aged in his 40s, was seriously injured and removed from the scene to Mayo University Hospital, where he passed away.

The male driver, age in his 60s, was uninjured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are looking for any persons travelling on the L6612, Bonniconlon to Enniscrone Road between the hours of 7.30a.m. and 8a.m. on Saturday morning, and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
