A status yellow thunderstorm and rain warning has been issued for 14 counties in the western half of the country.

Met Eireann is warning of heavy downpours, thunderstorms and the chance of hail across all Connaught counties together with counties Donegal, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath

It's in place until nine o'clock tonight.
