Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that a significant increase is to be made in the number of training places for GP's in Ireland.

That's according to Minister of State Dara Calleary.

Currently, only 258 new doctors are accepted onto the specialist training programme.

That will increase to 285 this year and then to 350 from next year.

There has also been an increase into the capacity on the Non-EU GP training scheme from 50 to 250 by the end of 2024.

Minister Dara Calleary has been giving more details to Midwest Radio's Alannah Nolan....
