Supermarket chain ALDI has initiated a recruitment drive to fill over 360 vacancies across the retailers’ 156 store network in Ireland, including 25 vacancies in Mayo.

The company is recruiting for store assistants including 19 permanent positions and 6 fixed term contract positions in its Mayo stores.

Recruitment has begun for the roles, which are a mix of existing and newly created vacancies, with ALDI keen to fill all positions as soon as possible as the company continues to open new stores.

Last year, ALDI opened a new store in Ballina. It has made a capital investment of over €43 million in Co. Mayo since first opening in Claremorris in 2007. The new hires will join the 104-strong team in Mayo currently.

Last February (2023), ALDI increased its hourly pay rates for staff, paying all store assistants up to €16.00 an hour, with a market leading entry rate of €13.85 an hour.
