A motion of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner is to be considered at the annual Garda Representative Association conference today in Westport.

There has been an ongoing row over Garda rosters for some time, with members fearing a return to unworkable and unpredictable shifts.

And yesterday Drew Harris was jeered and heckled by rank and file members when he addressed the conference. He claimed he had already compromised in the ongoing rosters row.

However yesterday it was said that those comments couldn't be further from the truth. The motion of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner will be discussed this morning before members then decide whether to vote on it or not.
