Leitrim is the most affordable county for both sole and joint first time buyers.

Switcher.ie has found it would take just 18 months to save the minimum 10 percent deposit in the county.

Longford, Donegal, Roscommon and Sligo complete the top five most affordable counties for sole buyers.

Dún Laoghaire in Dublin meanwhile is the least affordable area, where it takes almost 20 years to save a deposit.
