A re-design of Galway's bus network could see a 50 percent increase in services around the city.

The additional services will bring about more routes, an enhanced weekend timetable and a new 24-hour route.

The aim of the National Transport Authority's proposals is to "fundamentally transform" the city's bus system.

A public consultation on the proposals will run for the next six weeks.
