Foxford is a sad place at present as the community comes to terms with the death of a local businessman and community activist.

Kevin Reape, of Reape’s Garage in the town passed away on Saturday in the Mayo Hospice, after a short illness.

Kevin was a central figure in the town and was always on hand to assist in anyway that he could and he did.

A number of sad deaths have occurred in the community over the past week and there is a deep sense of sadness and loss locally.

Foxford based councillor Neil Cruise has been speaking to Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley about the cloud of mourning over the town at present and paid this tribute to Kevin Reape…

Kevin’s remains will be reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Foxford this evening from 4 o’clock until 7 o’clock.

The Funeral will arrive to St. Michael’s Church, Foxford tomorrow for Funeral Mass at 2pm, and he will be laid to rest in Craggagh cemetery.
