Mayo Sinn Fein TD Rose Conway Walsh has rubbished claims made in an article by this week's Irish Farmers Journal that farmers are concerned about the tax implications that a Sinn Fein government could bring around.

A front page story in this week's paper references comments made at a reported meeting which she says 'misrepresents Sinn Fein policy'.

The Erris deputy says the party were not asked for a comment prior to the publication of the story and no member of Sinn Fein was invited to attend.

Deputy Conway-Walsh also says she has spoken to farmers who attended the meeting and they say no reference to Sinn Fein were made at it.
