Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash in County Sligo.

A man in his 20s died in the single-vehicle collision at Rathbraughan, on the outskirts of Sligo town, early yesterday morning.

He has been named locally as talented boxer and GAA player Oran Geithins, who was a member of the Sean McDermott BC in Leitrim and Dromahair GAA club.

Gardaí have conducted an investigation of the car and the scene, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Anyone who was in the area at the time - especially those with dashcam footage - is asked to come forward..
