A man has been arrested following an incident at a county Galway home where a landlord allegedly lunged at a father of two with a circular saw.

The tenant and  his family were said to be left shaken after a video of the incident, where a landlord appeared to threaten the renter with a circular saw and with a series of threats, circulated on social media earlier this week.

Gardaí have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with an incident that occurred at a residential premises , on April 17^th, in Ballinasloe, and he remains in custody, contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person's Act.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
