A Roscommon Independent Deputy believes there is a gap in politics at the moment and says there is a need for a new rural party.
Michael Fitzmaurice says at the moment there is three different groups of Independents and says what needs to be done is for a platform of policies to be agreed on in relation to rural Ireland.
Deputy Fitzmaurice is calling on more like minded farmers and business people to consider entering politics and make a real difference.
