A break-in occurred at a service station in Charlestown overnight.

Delaney’s Mace Service station was broken into in the early hours of this morning and a quantity of cash and cigarettes were taken.

The scene is sealed off this morning and a garda technical examination is underway.

Gardai are examining CCTV and the investigation into the theft is underway.

A garda spokesperson says the incident appears similar to early morning break-ins that are occurring at service stations across the region at present.
