
The publication of a document containing details of the rail review in the Republic should not have been put on hold until an executive is formed in Northern Ireland.
That’s the view of Fianna Fáil Senator Lisa Chambers.
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has said that he would not publish the document until an executive is formed in Northern Ireland as it’s an All Island strategic rail review.
However, Secretary of State in Northern Ireland Chris Heaton-Harris has stated that elections will not take place there until at least January 2024.
Senator Chambers says that the review relating to rail lines in the Republic should be published as soon as they’re available to allow projects to get underway.
