Two people were injured in a single vehicle road collision in the early hours of this morning on the Ballindine to Irishtown road.

One of the two is described as seriously injured.

The road, the R325, is closed to traffic as a result.

The road is likely to be closed for a number of hours today, as a garda forensic investigation is carried out.

Garda say that diversions are in place.
