The outbound lane of the N4 from Sligo to Collooney remains closed following a two car road traffic collision.

The crash happened north of Collooney shortly after 9 o’clock this morning.

Emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene.

There are no reports of any serious injuries at this time.

Traffic is being diverted onto the N59 through Ballisodare and then onto the Collooney/Ballisodare Rd (R290) to rejoin the N4.

Sligo County Council has advised that high vehicles travelling southbound should park until further notice due to bridge height restrictions at Carrignagat on the R290.

The N4 is already closed south of Collooney, for a 3km stretch near the Tobar Bhríde roundabout to facilitate works.
