Gardai have issued an appeal for information on a man missing from Castlebar since yesterday morning.

43-year old Jerzy Sala has been missing from his home in Castlebar since the early hours of Sunday morning.

He's described as 6 foot in height, with a slim build, short brown hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a turquoise North Face jacket, blue jeans and brown hiking boots.

He left home in a silver Vauxhall Insignia car, registration number 09 DL 2323.

Gardai and Jerzy's family are concerned for his welfare, and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Castlebar Garda Station at 094 - 90 38200, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
