A man in his 30s who was arrested following an aggravated robbery at a business in Castlebar on Sunday night is due to appear before Ballina District Court this morning.

A convenience store on Davitts Terrace was robbed by a man armed with a knife at approximately 9pm. No-one was injured in the incident.

The culprit fled the scene on foot, and tobacco products valued at around €500 were stolen.

A man was arrested yesterday in connection with the crime, and he was detained at Castlebar Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
