Mayo GAA stalwart PJ McGrath leaves behind “a wide and long lasting legacy”.
That’s according to Fianna Fail Deputy Dara Calleary, who has been paying tribute to his party colleague who died.
PJ McGrath served as the Mayo chair of the Fianna Fail Parliamentary party when deputy Calleary first entered the Dáil and he says that PJ’s commitment and dedication to the party was immense.
PJ was also heavily involved in GAA administration, serving as President of the Connacht Council and chairman of the National Referees Committee as well as playing for Mayo in the 60’s.
Deputy Calleary told Midwest News this morning that a fitting tribute will be paid to honour PJ’s life once Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
PJ's funeral arrangements are not yet available.
