Gardaí have arrested one man, aged in his late 30s, in relation to the fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred in the Humbert Way area of Castlebar, last Wednesday night.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in Castlebar Garda Station.

A 45-year-old man died after he was seriously injured in the incident in Castlebar.

Investigations are ongoing.
