
Two Local Electoral Areas in Mayo had rates Covid-19 infection higher than the national average.
The Swinford and Claremorris areas had 14-day rates of 243 and 231 per 100,000 people respectively as of last Monday.
This compared to a national rate of just over 161 cases per 100,000 people.
The LEA’s with the next highest rate in the county were Ballina at 143, Castlebar at 110, Westport at 98 and Belmullet at 64 cases per 100,000.
Meanwhile the infection rate has plummeted in Galway City.
The central area has a rate of 326, its 184 in the east and 177 in the west of the city per 100,000.
