A live Facebook concert will take place on St Patrick's Day to help raise vital funds for Safe Home Ireland - the Irish emigrant support service based in Mulranny.

Safe Home Ireland has directly assisted over 2,000 older Irish people in returning home to live in this country, as well as providing outreach, information and advocacy services for over 20 years.

Singer Sean Keane has been announced as the first ambassador for Safe Home Ireland, and Sean will be joined by a number of singers, songwriters, musicians and dancers in a lunchtime concert on St Patrick's Day.

It's a free event, but people are welcome to make a donation.

The target is to raise €21,000 this year, to help support people returning home  - once restrictions have lifted and travel is permitted again.

The concert  - called "Ceol, Caint agus Craic" takes place from 1-2.30 pm on St Patrick's Day and can be viewed on the Safe Home Ireland Facebook page - it will also be livestreamed on Mayo.ie

Karen McHugh, CEO of Safe Home Ireland in Mulranny has been telling Midwest News that this year marks the charity's 21st anniversary.....
